Hi, my name is Kenneth Collins, I'm an amateur still photographer, videogragher and a Ford Senior Master Technician with over 35 years of experience. I've built dune buggies, a Drag car and have been in the Street Rodding Hobby. My interest in videography along with my career as a Ford technician, has come together in my How To Video projects.

My first video was shot in 1998 on overhauling the C6 transmission. It was filmed with a Hi8 Sony camcorder and edited on very modest equipment. This video was produced in my garage at home with help from my daughter Krystal. The tranny I used belongs to Buzzy Vaughan a fellow Street Rodder who owns a parts coating business www.thermaltechcoatings.com. In fact the transmission case was coated by him. This ceramic coating is used on headers, intakes, valve covers and other engine parts to dissipate heat and it looks good too.

Since then I've made six more videos using all digital film and editing equipment. I plan to produce one or two new "How To " films a year. I've tried to shoot the videos to show techniques and tips like I would have wanted to see when I was coming up in the car business. The videos are geared for both the hands on car guy and people who are always looking for more technical information.

What’s New with BadShoe

I’m shooting my latest video project on swapping in a 5.0L engine into a Fox body Ford. Click here for short intro clip. When finished later this year, the DVD will show what is needed when installing a 5.0L into a Fox platform that may have had a 4 or 6 cylinder engine originally. The Fox that’s used in this production is an 88 Turbo Coupe TBird and the engine is from a 99 Explorer. In this first phase, I will rewire the system using an EEC IV harness made for a 5.0L and make changes to the engine so it can fit in a Fox frame. The AOD tranny I’ll be installing is the same one that I overhauled in my “How To Overhaul the Ford AOD” repair video. The engine will pretty much be stock in this first phase, however I will install a high lift cam and show how to degree it, check piston to valve clearance, explain valve train geometry and maybe show how to do simple bearing and cylinder wall wear measurements. Other possible chapters might include lessons on understanding the Ford engine electronic control (EEC), how to troubleshoot electronic fuel injection, and explaining the physics of the drag race suspension, In a future update I may even do a turbo or supercharger installation. I’m asking all you car guys out there, to give me suggestions on what you would like to see added in this or future DVD’s. Drop me an email with your thoughts.
