This two DVD set has nearly three hours of Hands-On instruction. The video shows the rebuilding of a World Class BorgWarner/Tremec T5 (Ford version) however it is similar to any of the T5 models. The World Class T5 I used for the video was bought on eBay and came from a 87 Mustang 5.0L. I give a little history about the T5, show the disassembly, inspection, cleanup, assembly of all sub-components and reassembly. Through out the video I give lots of tips, FYI’s, warnings, lessons on how the gear box works and alterative methods for some of the procedures. Each disk has four chapters which can be reviewed as needed. A Bonus info sheet with spec., tips, tool list and part numbers comes with the DVD package.

Two DVD set which is nearly three Hours Long, shows Hands On overhaul instructions of the Ford 8.8 Rear End. Introduced about 1980, this poplar axle was used in light truck, vans, Crown Vic’s, big Merc’s, V8 Mustangs since 86, many other rear axle drive Fords and is still used today. This updated and copyrighted video includes; tool overview, axle disassembly, inspection, bearing replacement, use of the Ford pinion depth tool, setting backlash and tooth pattern, final assembly, repair tips and includes Aluminum IRS rebuilding procedures. These rears are used in the Mark 8, 99+ model Cobra and late Explorer. Scenes show how to use a housing spreader, finding carrier bearing shim size by using Ford’s dummy bearing tool set and I even threw in a segment on replacing the pinion crush sleeve with a solid spacer. Also see chapters on Traction-Lok Overhaul and 7.5“ rear end comparison. Newly added video chapter on the 9.75” rear end found in 97 and later F150’s and Expeditions. Segments include repair similarities to the 8.8” as well as the very different rebuild procedure needed for the 9.75” traction-lok carrier. There are six scene segments on each of the two DVD disc’s to quickly view or review information. I’ve added helpful tips, alternative methods for setting pinion depth and clutch pack clearance.
Bonus Info Package: The package comes with a detailed tool list, spec sheet, FAQ’s, Ford service part numbers, tooth pattern and backlash adjustment charts and a measured drawing for making an adapter needed for use with a housing spreader.

AOD Transmission |
 | $35.95 includes shipping US only
$47.95 includes shipping Canada only
|
This copyrighted three DVD set has more than four hours of detailed How To instructions on the Ford AOD transmission. The AOD was used in rear axle drive Ford cars and trucks from 1980 to 1991 (as well as 92-93 in trucks, Mustangs and TBirds). The tranny I used was from an 88 MarkVII which is a typical example of the AOD and changes made through the years are pointed out in the video. Although the film is geared to the novice, the AOD is an advanced designed unit with several special tools needed to overhaul it. Some prior transmission knowledge is recommended but with patients and eye to detail, the first timer can tackle it. I shot the video in a logical order of repair plus showing techniques, FYI tidbits, Hot Tips and as much misc. info I could think of. I've added chapters on clutch/band applications, explaining planetary operation and how to make throttle pressure adjustments.
Bonus Info Package: Packaged with the DVD, I've included a spec. sheet, part numbers, air check chart, clutch spring compressor drawing as well as Hi Performance buildup tips.
